You are so close to the end! Now that you’ve got your trial SPM results, you only have your final exams to go and then you are finished! Hang in there – the next couple of months of hard work will truly pay off for you.
In fact, the last year of hard work can actually pay off for you now by using your trial SPM results to fast track your study abroad dreams so that this time next year, you could be starting your undergraduate degree in Ireland or the UK.
But how?
Join DIFC’s January 2018 Intake
DIFC offer a January intake for the NCUK International Foundation Year qualification, which allows SPM students to use their trial SPM results for admission purposes, rather than waiting for your final SPM results in March.
This pathway will save you a full year on your study plan, as you’ll already be halfway through your Foundation Year by the time you get your SPM results.
What is the NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY)?
The IFY is designed for students as an alternative to the 2-year A Level pathway to undergraduate study.
The course is specifically tailored to suit the needs for international students and provides academic preparation for your first year of undergraduate study in Ireland or the UK. It also ensures you meet the minimum English language requirements for your chosen degree programme.
The January 2018 intake is delivered over two intensive terms and combines:
- Academic study in 3 key subject modules relevant to you study plan
- Intensive English for Academic Purposes preparation
- Vital study and life skills
- Cultural orientation
There are 4 main pathways for students:
- Business & Management: for progression to Business, Law, Finance, Humanities & Arts degrees
- Engineering & Technology: for studying Engineering or Computer Science related degrees
- Science: for progression to Pharmacy, Environmental Science or general Science related degrees
- Health Science: for studying Medicine, Dentistry or Nursing
Where can I study after the IFY?
The great thing about the NCUK IFY is that it provides guaranteed access to leading universities across Ireland, Europe, USA & Australia. Once you successfully pass the IFY, DIFC will secure you a place on a relevant degree with one of our partner universities.
Our partners include:
NCUK UK Partners
Irish Partners
Medicine partner universities
Entry requirements vary between the universities and you can search the possible progression options here
How to apply?
Places are limited for the January 2018 intake, so the sooner you apply the better!
