Student Support

At DIFC we pride ourselves on our student care and do our utmost to ensure that you will have a pleasant experience while studying and living in Ireland.

Before you arrive...

You can book a 4-week Home Stay or choose to live in the on-campus accommodation. By making these arrangements in advance, you will have the security of a base for the first month of your stay while you settle in, after which the DIFC accommodation officer can help you look for alternative accommodation, should you choose to do so.

When you arrive...

Airport Pick-up and Orientation

We offer an airport pick-up facility for any student who requires it. With this option, new arrivals are settled into their accommodation and brought to the DIFC campus the following day.

On arrival, all students are tested and assigned to the appropriate class. We also arrange an individual registration and induction with the Student Services Officer, who will provide advice on important issues like the in-country immigration process and assistance with opening a bank account, as well as answering questions which relate to settling in.

These inductions are also used to introduce students to key staff members and the student services team. There is also a comprehensive induction at the start of the NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY) and NCUK Graduate Diploma programmes, to present students with an overview of their chosen course.

You will also receive a comprehensive handbook which provides useful information, addresses and contact details of important or interesting places in Dublin, maps, college details etc.

Should students have any on-going problems, they can speak to the Student Services Officer or a Student Counsellor at any time. Every student is assigned an individual tutor from amongst the teaching staff with whom they can discuss academic or personal issues.

Each class in the college elects a Class Representative who has the opportunity to feed-back to the college at formal meetings and through informal means.
