NUI Maynooth traces its roots to the establishment of St. Patrick’s College Maynooth in 1795. It is a dynamic and innovative university with over 5,500 students including an increasing number of international students. Internationally renowned for excellence in research and teaching, NUI Maynooth is situated on a beautiful, spacious campus 25K west of Dublin city centre. Maynooth is Ireland ’s only university town. Nui Maynooth has five faculties - Arts, Celtic Studies, Engineering, Philosophy and Science (including Computer Science) which offer programmes from Undergraduate to Doctoral levels.

A unique feature of academic life at UL is the Cooperative Education Programme (undergraduate work placement), which involves placement of all students in employment relevant to their academic interests for a minimum of seven months.

The Dublin Institute of Technology has a long history of providing education up to the highest levels. Founded in 1887, DIT currently offers an extensive range of undergraduate programmes at Certificate, Diploma and Degree levels and postgraduate programmes at Master and Doctoral levels. DIT has an enrolment of almost 22,000 students (11,000 full time students, 10,000 undergraduate students and 1,000 postgraduate students). DIT's six faculties are located in Dublin City : Applied Arts, Business, Built Environment, Engineering, Science, Tourism & Food. Each year DIT welcomes an ever increasing number of International students to its programmes.

The University, founded in 1845 as Queen's College, Galway , has experienced significant and continuous growth since the 1960's, both in its stock of buildings, facilities and physical resources and also in the number of its students and staff. Its student body now numbers over 15,000 (over 11,000 fulltime), with academically strong programmes of teaching and research throughout its seven Faculties of: - Arts, Celtic Studies, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Medicine and Health Sciences, Science The campus itself is situated on the banks of the River Corrib, close to the centre of Galway, on a most attractive site. The University has of the order of 1,500 international students, 10% of the total student population, at undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from over 40 countries.

DCU has continued to develop and now has a reputation as Ireland ’s most progressive University, providing exceptionally well-qualified graduates to the global marketplace. Each campus is like its own little village and you'll find everything you need where you study. It's worth remembering though that all the different parts of UU add up to one huge university - Ireland's biggest.
